Friday 3 August
Not much to report today as we have had a cleaning day. Not wishing to bull up the subject but cleaning to us is really important. Firstly, from a hygiene point of view but also because it really makes us happy to give Campy the once over.
Today was the turn of the inside of the van and washing clothes. Petra attacked the moderate pile of washing and by 9am it was done. Kevin in the mean time fashioned a most excellent washing line out of tent poles, guy ropes and a couple of bits of para cord joined together with a perfect ‘Fisherman’s Knot’. The weather today has been variable to say the least - warm and windy with scattered showers. Dodging the showers, we had to take the washing in and out more times than...’something you have to take in and out a lot’..... (sorry can’t think of anything clean, more tea Vicar?).
In between the showers we emptied Campy’s drawers and cupboards one by one and wiped them out with a weak solution of Milton. Kevin learnt this trick during his sailing days and it’s supposed to keep the Van smelling sweet. (as apposed to a Gents toilet at one end and smelly socks at the other). Amazingly it took us all day till 4pm to finish the cleaning and at 5pm following a mug of tea we had our customary Gin and Tonic and Olives.
Outside tomorrow........?
