We decided
to call to see how the build was going and found that ‘Campy’ was
finished. It was a bit of a surprise and shows how efficient Bilbo are at
converting these vans. Anyway, that was enough for us to jump in the car and head
off to South Godstone to take a look.
We arrived
at 10.45 and went down to the factory from the sales office. On arrival we met
Dave who had made the conversion. He collected the key from the key safe and
showed us to the van parked up in the compound out the back which was squeezed
in between other finished vans quietly waiting for their owners.
It was great
to see ‘Campy’ even though she was covered in dirt and scribbling all over the
windscreen. Final prep will be done on the van prior to our collection on 2
July. Dave pulled the van forward and left us alone with the van for the first
time. As you can imagine it was very exciting and brought home to us that in a
very short time this van is going to be our portable home and adventure maker.
Here are
some Pics to give you an idea.
Our dear
friend Gaby kindly gave us ‘Pepe’ to be our mascot and travel companion. He will
of course be joining in the fun and we will be posting pictures of his adventures......
So there
Campy will stay till Petra retires in June and we need her in July. We can’t
wait.
