To all our Friends
I am sure you will all be aware that 2012 is ‘Our Year’. Petra retires in June and as I am already retired we have decided to pack all our things away to storage and head off into the sunset for a well earned retirement. Where it will all lead and how long we will be touring for is unknown but we feel it’s something we need and want to do, and of course we should do it whilst we are able.
We will be picking up the Camper from Bilbo first week in July and will of course do a trip around the country visiting Friends and Relatives showing it off. We will then be going to St. Ives and the West Country for the summer to get used to the life, relax and wind-down from a life of stress and hard work.
In the winter months we are going to travel abroad following the sun south. We will leave the UK at the end of September (after Josie’s 21st Birthday) and have a leisurely drive arriving in southern Spain November 1st. For our first winter away we have taken a house in the mountains 30 minutes from Malaga in a village called Riogordo we’ll be there for 4 months. The house looks lovely and has 2 Bedrooms and a sofa bed. It’s situated in 3 acres of Olive woods and is 10 minute walk to the nearest village where there are a few shops, a restaurant and a bank. The contract runs out end of Feb and we will take another month or so driving back to the UK arriving back late early April just in time for spring and to continue touring another part of the country (possibly Scotland).
Anyway, we don’t want to make too many rigid plans as part of the fun we think is having the flexibility and freedom to be spontaneous, who knows where the roads will lead and what adventures we will have?
